Preface

Recently, I needed to use Ubuntu for development. Setting up a full virtual machine consumes too many resources, and since WSL is available, I decided to install WSL for Ubuntu development. Honestly, this is much better than a virtual machine, especially WSL2, which can directly access the host's GPU (tested and works great). Without further ado, let's get into today's main topic.

sudo vim /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/80proxy

Acquire::http::proxy "http://10.10.1.20:8080/";
Acquire::https::proxy "http://10.10.1.20:8080/";
# Acquire::ftp::proxy "ftp://10.10.1.20:8080/";

• Problem Description: After enabling IPv6 on the router, the server cannot be connected using IPv4.

1. Edit /etc/gai.conf

sudo vim /etc/gai.conf

Install and Configure Nginx

1. Pull the image first

docker pull dockerpull.org/nginx:1.16.1  # Use the dockerpull.org source

1. Run the following command to uninstall all conflicting packages: (Uninstall older versions)

for pkg in docker.io docker-doc docker-compose docker-compose-v2 podman-docker containerd runc; do sudo apt-get remove $pkg; done

Modify SSH Port

1. Edit the ssh configuration file

vim /etc/ssh/sshd_config

1. Mount Hard Drives

Mount Partitions Manually and Temporarily

1. Get the list of hard drives

sudo fdisk -l

Modify the configuration file using sudo vim /etc/netplan/50-cloud-init.yaml

The default sshd in UOS has TCP and port forwarding disabled, which need to be enabled manually. Edit the configuration with vim /etc/ssh/sshd_config:

AllowTcpForwarding yes
AllowAgentForwarding yes
